Semiarid streams

Semiarid region streams are unique ecosystems characterized by distinctive biodiversity adapted to highly variable environmental conditions. Some of these streams have been designated as Special Areas of Conservation under the Natura 2000 network, yet they are increasingly subjected to intense anthropogenic and climatic pressures. During the visit, we will explore these remarkable landscapes, learn more about their geological and ecological origins, and discuss key aspects of water management related to their conservation.
